Peace and Freedom Movement (PFM)November 14–17, 2025

From November 14 to 17, 2025, a high-level delegation of the Peace and Freedom Movement (PFM), led by the Movement’s Leader Mr. Samim Yawar, carried out an official and multi-dimensional visit to the states of Virginia and Pennsylvania in the United States.The primary objective of this mission was to strengthen community relations, engage in political discussions, participate in cultural events, and expand the Movement’s outreach among the Afghan diaspora.

1. Official Meeting with Senator David Wallace

On the first day of the visit, the PFM delegation held an official meeting with U.S. Senator David Wallace.The discussion focused on the political situation in the country, the ongoing humanitarian crisis, the violation of fundamental rights, and the need for international support for civic initiatives.

Senator Wallace expressed appreciation for the Movement’s efforts and emphasized his readiness for continued dialogue and future cooperation.

2. Official Recognition of the Peace and Freedom Movement by the Afghanistan–America Relations Office

A major highlight of the trip was the formal recognition presented to PFM by the Afghanistan–America Relations Office.This recognition underscored the Movement’s role in public awareness, civic mobilization, advocacy for freedom, and unifying the Afghan diaspora.

Two U.S. Senators associated with the Office also pledged concrete future cooperation, including:• Continued official meetings with the Movement’s leadership• Review of community-based initiatives• Support for PFM’s human rights and civil society projects

3. Participation in the Community Gathering of Afghans in Virginia

The delegation attended a large community gathering of Afghan residents in Virginia.During this public event, PFM leadership delivered a motivational address emphasizing unity, collective responsibility, and the power of organized civic action. Questions and recommendations from community members were also addressed.

4. Participation in the Launch Ceremony of Dr. Makhdoom Raheen’s Latest Publication

At the invitation of Dr. Makhdoom Raheen — a celebrated scholar, historian, and cultural figure — the PFM delegation took part in the official unveiling of his latest work.The delegation’s presence highlighted PFM’s commitment to cultural development, enlightenment, and the role of literature in social awakening.

5. Joint Community Session of Afghan Residents in Virginia and Pennsylvania

Organized by Mr. Omid Abarar, Head of PFM’s Public Relations Committee, a large joint community session was held with residents of Virginia and Pennsylvania.The gathering featured active participation from attendees, discussions on key social and political concerns, and collective reflections on the future of the country.

The leadership expressed gratitude for the strong turnout and highlighted the historical role of the diaspora in civic resistance and justice-seeking efforts.

6. Meetings with Members and Supporters at the Delegation’s Residence

Throughout the visit, numerous supporters, activists, and members of PFM from various U.S. states visited the delegation.These informal meetings provided an opportunity to hear proposals, strengthen organizational structures, and expand PFM’s activities across the United States.

7. Meetings with Political, Social, and Security Figures

On the sidelines of the official programs, the delegation held several private meetings with influential political, social, and security figures.Due to security considerations and mutual agreement, the names of these individuals are not mentioned in this report.

Key topics included the internal situation in the country, potential areas of cooperation, and pathways to building stronger communication channels.
